The #3dprinting fun continues!

I added the enclosure and then some 24v COB LEDs now, basically like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOXev6kwDsA (annoyingly the splitter cables I grabbed have the red/black reversed relative to the printer 🤷)

Then I grabbed a Sovol SH03, and a bunch of tube to see if I can mount the reels under (or over) the printer, and also keep them dry. Seems to be working well so far, even if it’s a bit of a money pit :alex_hot:

Meanwhile I designed and printed my first part using FreeCAD 💪🏼 It’s just a simple handle for a wooden drawer, but wow, this software has a bit of a learning curve!

@kn4ntu The reddit 3dprinting wiki has been really useful https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/wiki/index/

I’ve also just been printing a load of fun random things to get the hang of what works (which seems to be most things, I’ve only had a couple of failed prints so far, one from lack of support, one thing didn’t stick to the bed).

As for FreeCAD I started running through some tutorials about a year ago and now really need to start again.

@kn4ntu oh, I see! I’m still very new with regards to DIY designs. I did a lot of measuring and a bit of sketching, then translated my sketches into CAD.

I printed a prototype, then reviewed that and iterated. I think having low expectations around success probably helps too.

I’ve only really used the flashforge branded orca so far, not gone too deep into that!
