{hacking,music,electronics,radio}

Here are the toots from my Mastodon account. If you’re into ham radio and technology this is a great inclusive server with an awesome mascot called Alex.

It's Alex! A soft brown mastodon holding a handheld radio in their right hand and carrying a blue bag over their shoulder

Alex, the mastodon.radio mascot

📢 WSJT-X 2.5.0 was announced here: https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/message/37357178/

🗒️ Release notes are here: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/Release_Notes.txt

📁 And downloads are via: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html

The release notes say:

“WSJT-X in this release is nearly identical to that in WSJT-X 2.4.0.

The Q65 decoder has been enhanced to measure and compensate for linear

frequency drift in Q65 signals.”

So not hugely exciting 🤷, but I expect hamlib has also been updated.

“Available from a well known internet site”. “Get this from a popular Chinese website”. “Available from an online auction site”. 😃

I always laugh when I see this sort of thing in magazines. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing wrong with naming companies and providing URLs.

Somehow managed to erase mysql and mod-php during upgrading to Bullseye.

Easily fixed but d’oh! One of these days I’ll get around to getting puppet or something set up.

And now WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc5 is out.

This fixes a bug with non-standard callsigns.

Email announcement at: https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/message/37331260/

And downloads/release notes are in the normal places.

WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc2 and MAP65 3.0-rc2 are out.

The focus is still on Q65 and EME so worth a look if you use those.

Announcement at: https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/message/37311453/

Release notes: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/Release_Notes.txt

You can also browse the mailing list archives using https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/wsjt-devel/ (I’m always surprised sourceforge still exists).

WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc1 and MAP65 3.0-rc1 are out.

I have not really heard of MAP65, but the notes say if you use it for EME you should try this RC.

Announcement at:

https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/message/37295246/

Release notes at: https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/Release_Notes.txt as always.

Have fun!
